OnGossamer bra: A-cup also fits AAI’ve heard from several adult women of average height and build that size AA bras are too tight across the front. The underwires are too narrow and close-set to fit an average figure properly.

This problem usually isn’t solved by going up a size in the band or cup, although it’s always worth a try if you’re in love with a particular style.

If you’re over 18 with an average figure, the reason you may have trouble finding a comfortable and proper fit in size AA is because these bras are usually designed to fit either petite women or teen girls.

Either way, the proportions are wrong for most women of average size and shape. It has to do with the shape, length and positioning of the wires.

Flower Child Mesh Bra - Fits PetitesOn sale at ideeli right now: Lucky Brand bras, panties, camisoles, lingerie and loungewear in playful, pretty colors and prints.

I’ve always liked Lucky jeans for their laid-back, straightforward styles and a fit that actually accommodates real women’s curves (like many of us, I’ve got a bit more going on in the back than up top).

I have not tried their bras or panties, but the camis fit true to size. Since these are lightweight bralettes, I’m guessing they will fit petite A-B cups…. not sure about size AA.

Anyone who buys one of the bras, please report back to let us know how it fits? Thanks! I’m going for a pair of $7 panties, myself.

Designer Lingerie AdviceTomima Edmark is the bra fitting consultant for HerRoom. I got curious after seeing her sizing tips on the Timpa Duet bra, and found my way over to her blog.

This savvy lingerie expert has some strong opinions and isn’t afraid to share them. I don’t always agree with her, but she’s a great source of information on intimates: trends, sexy designer lingerie brands, sizing, styles… if it exists, Tomima probably knows about it.

The best thing: she’s got a sense of humor. Her latest post about men’s underwear had me in stitches.

I’ve been doing my best to represent the petite size AA perspective in my comments on her blog, as the itty bitty committee is not going to get much attention from prominent people in the lingerie market unless we make some noise!

A bra to fit the tiniest AAA-cup breasts. For all my frustration with the lingerie market and its failure to make a decent variety of bras in my size, I suppose I should concede one thing: it’s even worse for all the lovely little AAA-cup women and girls out there.

Fortunately, Lula Lu has made big progress in designing tiny bras. Their latest work of genius: Desiree, a stunning fuschia mesh demi embellished with an intricate black lace overlay. This style is available in both AA and AAA cups (band sizes 32, 34, 36… no 38 yet).

Lucia in Peony/TangerineUpdate, Sunday 7/10: First three readers to email me at info@32aabra.com will get a second bra free with their LBC order!

Triple yay. Seriously, these are just beautiful… allow me to present this weekend’s luxurious and extra-classy small bra savings feature: the Little Bra Company’s lovely signature Lucia. My price per item is $30, with free shipping. Buying instructions are after the jump.

LBC Lucia Bra in Oyster/Aqua

Sizes 32A (also fits 32AA) and 34A (fits 34AA) are each available in a choice of two mouthwatering color combinations: Peony/Tangerine (at left) and the ethereal Oyster/Aqua (right). Total stock: 4 brand new bras.

Little Bra Company Sizing

There has been some concern among loyal 32aabra.com readers that LBC bras may run too tight in the band, and also that the cups may be set too close together for some of you small-busted beauties with average bone structure (i.e., not petite).

Scrawny and shoulder-less as I am, it’s a bit hard for me to say for sure how these bras will fit women of average height and build. What I can say is this: the band on the Lucia does not seem to run especially small by petite standards. The cups, however, fit quite small and I think they may actually be best for size AA breasts. I happen to love the fit of Lucia in size 32A, so if you’re built like me, definitely go for it.

Adhesive Stick-On Bra Cups size AA, A
Advantages of Braza Contour Petals Adhesive Nipple Covers:

  • Not too thick — perfect if you’re looking for just a little help filling out your bikini top, and they do cover the nips as well.
  • You can position these in different ways depending on the look you want. For more cleavage, position them farther apart; for a push-up effect, create a shelf by sticking the bottom edges slightly below your bust and then lift yourself up into the top halves (like a demi bra).

I don’t know how the weather is over by you, but here in Boston we are well aware that summer has arrived… and it’s getting out of hand. It’s not the heat I mind so much as the humidity — the sweaty/sticky factor that makes you want to rip all of your clothes off, all the time.

So I’m kind of on a mission to see how little I can get away with wearing out in public. I’m doing the bra-as-crop-top thing on a regular basis, as well as the girl-boxers-as-real-shorts thing. This is a nice advantage of being small-busted: it’s pretty hard for a body like mine to shock anyone, no matter how inappropriate or skimpy my attire.

Anyway. So here’s what I look for in summer bras: breathable fabrics (cotton, mesh nylon, silk); a range of blissful summery colors, from basic solids to playful prints; and simple, lightweight styles with minimal padding and other such nonsense.

That’s why I’m all about these two Aerie bras, soon to be added in the store:

American Eagle Katie Bra, 34AA

Aerie Katie polka dot bra in aqua/orange

American Eagle Cotton Demi Bra, size 32AA

Aerie Hannah Cotton Bra

Both are sold out in size AA on the AE website. The Katie bra is simply delicious in aqua and white, with just a bit of orange lace trim and a delicate, sheer center bow. Hannah in basic navy cotton is a nice alternative to black microfiber for hot weather — it’s a bit softer, more breathable, and less formal.
