If you are petite and small-breasted, you’ve probably noticed this: when it comes to the size on the tag of a bra, “standard” actually means “sadistic.” There’s nothing consistent or reliable about it, and it can be a real pain in the boobs.

I’m a 32AA in Wacoal Petites, a 30A in Playtex TGIF (Thank Goodness it Fits — except when it doesn’t), and a 34AA in Felina (but I don’t think they make AA bras).

One thing you can be fairly sure of is that if the bra is sized for petites, it will be a tighter fit in the band. The cups sit closer together and cover less area. Italian, French, and Scandinavian bras run small in the band but usually not in the cup.

SO true! Aaaah! Buying bras is so frustrating because of this! There’s no standardization across brands and sometimes within them! It’s so disappointing when I try a 32 band and then find out it’s way too big and there is no 30 available. >:|

    Hey Parasol,
There are two brands I can recommend that fit tight/small in the band: Felina and Timpa. Felina bras start at size 32A but the push-up ones will fit a 30A. If you need an AA cup, try one of the Timpa Duet bras in a 32A — it also fits AA cups. Most women need to order one band size larger than usual in Timpa, so the 32 should work.

Can’t believe they are doing away with TGIMS bra. I wear a nearly B and i guess I have to go braless now. LOL
I am so upset about this.
