Baby ZebraThe title of this post was my first thought when I came across Zee Bra, a new product made for small-busted women.

Yes: women. Turns out it’s not for zebras, nor is it available in the almost-too-trendy zebra print design that I’m actually getting tired of anyway. I mean, did you see that giraffe bra in the Cosabella sale at Rue La La? Kinda bizarre. This animal print lingerie thing is maybe getting a little out of hand.

But I digress. Zee Bra appears to be a very new product; the website describes it as a bra for AA and A cups, but there is no size AA in the “Buy Now” menu. So I wrote to the designer, Lynn Saussy, to see what the deal is with sizing.

These bras are wire-free and do not have the traditional back-hook closure. What they do have is optional padding, which is usually a good thing. The material is a nylon/spandex blend — not the best for summer (I’m sort of a cotton zealot once it gets hot outside), but way better than a polyester foam-lined boulder holder.

I hope to hear back from Lynn soon, and when I do I’ll be sure to post an update. Anything designed for the itty bitty titty committee is totally exciting, because there are so few bras made to fit us.

Keep an eye out for more news on this! If it’s anything like the Itty Bitty Bra, it will soon be flying off the shelves in high-end designer lingerie boutiques.

Best wishes to Lynn, and high hopes for sleek and sexy zebras.

Definitely interested in trying one of these if the padding is optional and there’s no underwire. If anyone’s looking for a bra hack that’ll tide them over till then, Old Navy is marking down their molded sports bras with removable inserts and the XS is perfect for AA. The inserts are thin, so you can get just enough shape without suffocating your skin. I like to slip them in my cotton sports bras or shelf camis (they also work really well with Barely There bralettes), so I don’t have to worry about looking “cold” every time I walk indoors. It’s like a real bra without all the bother (e.g., hooks, washing, sweatiness). :)

The website lists them at $16.50, but my local store had them marked down to around $7 (which is about the price of a pair of sew-in inserts). The elastic band on the XS is a little tight and would probably be uncomfortable for a 34 and up, but I bought them more for the inserts than the bra itself anyway.

Zee bra is the real deal, designed by ‘little an’ lovin’ it’ for ‘little an’ lovin it’ . Gotta get one (or some)……..

Thanks for the tip, Lin. Maybe the Old Navy website will have them on sale soon. I also like the sleek little sports bra tops from The Gap — sizing runs small in these, so even if you are very petite the band won’t ride up. On me, they have just the right amount of support for running… which is not much. Great for perky AA and A cups.

Zee Bra update: I heard back from Lynn Saussy, and it turns out the size A also fits AA. She’s sending me one to try, so check back in a few days for my review. Thanks Lynn!

I found out about zee bra from my yoga studio, Vista Yoga in Atlanta. I love my zee bra!
I thought my other bra was comfortable till I tried zee bra! Oh my gosh….it is so
comfy and hugs my small 34AA frame! I highly recommend zee bra for us gals with smaller busts (www.thezeebra.com for those of you that don’t live in Atlanta).

I’m a larger-busted friend of Lynn’s who bought a zee bra to give to a small-busted friend. I tried it on myself for kicks, and I wish I WAS small-busted so I could wear it – the material is so scrumptiously soft yet the removable padding gives shape and fit, with all unnecessary wires, elastic etc. eliminated. Feminine, comfortable and sexy!

I found out about this bra through a friend. I am about a 34 B and I still love this bra for hanging around and being comfortable around the house. I am so excited for what the future!!

Madeline: is your zee bra a 34, or did you have to order the 36 in order to fit your cup size? I’d like to get one for my sister, but not sure which size would fit her best. I emailed Lynn Saussy (again) to ask her advice… by the way, in case I somehow forgot to say this earlier: Lynn is very easy to reach and quick to respond to inquiries. And as if all of this weren’t enough, she’s also extremely nice.
